Bucket List #77 Landscape the backyard

A little bit of history on Rest, my brother from another mother. He is a painter, by trade, and has been our go-to painter and handy man since we were teenagers. We used to get him to come and work at out house many years ago and a while ago we offered that he comes and lives with us, and he accepted! He has his own quarters on the property and he is always busy doing something productive from early in the morning until sunset, he certainly does not live up to his name.

We’ve taken him as our brother all of these years and he has such a special place in our hearts. During quarantine, while enjoying our many little catch-ups in the sun, we decided we wanted to landscape the backyard and get it ready in time for summer.

It was a wonderful project to work on together and the whole family joined in throughout the process. We are quite proud of our project and how it turned out. It wasn’t a difficult process at all and we somehow just took it one day at a time and we’ve all been enjoying the new look and comfort.

Rest is by far the kindest, most gentle person we have ever come across, and honestly I don’t think I’ve met anyone more humble. Since we are all getting back to working and Rest returning to work, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about getting him a scooter. He does not have a license and has never driven a car or bike, so looking around for something super easy to ride and where we could possibly book him some lessons. It would make things a lot easier for him to travel to work, and wouldn’t need to rely on public transport and would just give him a sense of independent mobility.
