Sometimes you just need a break
Took some time off posting and as usual, that reset makes a huge difference. Since we last ‘spoke’ I have been making a few changes that I hope will help my life prosper…

Firstly, I’ve been taking my fitness a little more seriously and even decided to set a little goal I hope to achieve in the next few months, the splits! I know, what was I thinking?! But it has been humbling to see what my body is capable of and the boundaries I am able to push. I have been stretching 3-4 times a week since January. I am aiming to do this a lot more often until I am streching every day. I truly hope that in about two months I will drop all the way down to the floor.
I have also been going to the gym 3-4 times a week and bumped up my cardio game, doing 100 squats almost every day in hopes to strengthen my leg muscles and booty and drop a few kilos. I’ve been kicking into gear and I feel a lot more stable and stronger after adding this to my routine. When I don’t work, I definitely feel a difference in my body so I prefer going to the gym than being lazy, which is completely the opposite to how I felt before.
I have also become more aware of my nutrition and the foods and snacks I consume. I am definately far from where I want to be in terms of a healthier lifestyle but I do struggle with the diet a little bit. I am not a big eater, as it is, so I eat small meals as often as possible, sometimes my options are not particularly healthy as I will opt for a pastry, cereal or a dessert rather than an actual meal. My meals are healthy as I do not eat a lot of carbs (except potatoes), my food is almost never oily or spicy and I actually really enjoy the healthier options. I do love Italian food though, so when I’m craving for something, it has to be delicious, creamy and in most instances they are pretty rich.
I already don’t like eating, so having to eat the same (somewhat flavourless) food everyday with meal prepping, is a little hard for me, but I aim to get into this and make it work for me if I’m going to take this to the next level.
I’ve started a health & fitness segment on the blog and even brought on a biokineticist as a guest blogger. I do hope to bring on more health and fitness professionals, so that I can, not only add more health and fitness into my life, but to also have the peace of mind that I am doing the best possible thing, the correct way.

One of my biggest issues has still been my amount of sleep! I have been trying to get to bed earlier and to just turn off my technology and more importantly, my mind! But I have been failing miserably! I have tried setting alarms to remind me to prep for bed, I have been doing as much as I can to depleat my energy throughout my waking hours, so that I am more eager to get an early night, but thus far… It has not been working! Will continue to get better at this and working at being more mindful of my time.
If you have any tips or tricks to help me improve and live my best possible life, please leave me a comment. I know there must be a way for us to help each other in the struggles to a balanced life!
