My ‘Rimmel London’ Faves

My Favourite Rimmel Makeup Products

FIX & PROTECT – MAKEUP PRIMER

I don’t know about you guys but I never really wore a makeup primer before, I thought that my moisturiser was enough. But since I started using this makeup primer, I’ve learnt how important a primer really is! The fact that it is SPF 25 makes this a must-have. I was always too lazy to apply moisturiser, sunscreen and then start with makeup, so this makes it so much easier. Helps my makeup to last all day, smells good and is really great in protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

STAY MATTE – LONG LASTING PRESSED POWDER

There has been so many instances where I felt like a beautiful doll when leaving the house, but half way through the day it looks like a was caught in the rain! So with this long lasting pressed powder, my face has that beautifully matte finished look ALL DAY! This is a great product to use after I’ve added some liquid foundation. Powder is an absolute must in my makeup routine and this goes on so light and evenly.

LASTING FINISH SOFT COLOUR BLUSH (010 Santa Rose)

After using powder on my face, I always use a beautifully natural blush on the apples of my cheeks, for that soft natural rosy look, and this shade, Santa Rose, is just perfect! If gives a really nice even colour that looks completely natural and because of it being a powder, it’s never too heavily applied. I tend to opt for more powders in winter because I like my skin to appear matte.

ROYAL BLUSH – CREAM BLUSH (003 CORAL QUEEN)

Summer is the time for dewy, glowy skin that glistens ever so slightly with our natural perspiration, and it is somewhat confusing having matte skin in the warmer months, so I almost always opt for a cream blush in spring and summer. I do admit, cream blush always freaked me out because I never know how to apply it. But I’ve learnt that a little goes a long way! And applying with my fingertips helps as well, I then blend with a brush. I don’t own a beauty blender yet, but I think it would work very well too. This blush has such a great consistency and the shade in Coral Queen, works really well with warmer, tanned skin, again, perfect for the warmer months of the year.

BROW THIS WAY – BROW SCULPTING KIT (003 DARK BROWN)

I’ve been blessed with pretty full eyebrows, and only now appreciating them, because think eyebrows have become a thing, thank you Cara! But I very seldom fill them in. I just feel like I don’t need to, and because when I do, I look pretty drag. But this sculpting kit is really great to building the desired look without being too crazy too quickly. I think that because it is a powder, you can work with the product a lot easier than the cream ones. The Dark Brown shade works really great with my skin tone and hair colour. There is a lighter colour in the kit as well, so it’s easier to blend and get the natural look I pretty much opt for 90 percent of the time.

BROW THIS WAY – HIGHLIGHTING PENCIL (MATTE / SHIMMER)

I think that it’s pretty daunting trying to contour and highlight like Kim K, but with these pencils, it’s so controlled, there is hardly room for error. I am not a huge fan of the trend because changing your entire look is unnecessary when our differences makes us so unique and beautiful. But when I feel like playing around a bit and trying some new looks, these two come in pretty handy.

They are not crazy pigmented so they are perfect for the kind of glow I want to have. The one has a matte finish and the other one is shimmer. It is actually supposed to be for the brows, so under the brow area and possibly on the nose and upper cheeks, they work pretty well.

I don’t think having a glow is ever a bad thing!

WATERPROOF HYDROFUGE EXAGGERATE EYE LINER (003 GLOSSY BLACK)

Most people who know me well, know that I am a marshmallow, and cry very easily, especially with everything going on in the world, but before I get too deep up in here, I am going to talk about this incredible product! I use the eye liner every day! I’m not even kidding! It has the easiest application brush and I have that perfect cat-eye liner almost every time. I don’t use the waterproof liner every day only because I didn’t know it comes in ‘waterproof’, yay me for that pleasant surprise!

Now when I go to those dramatic movies or plays I can cry without the concern forcing me to suck it up and be a big girl!

COLOUR PRECISE EYE LINER (WHITE)

Because I am always wearing eye liner on my lids, I try to change it up every once in a while and opting for a different colour is always a good trend. I have been loving this white liner recently because it is still subtle and chic, without thinking or trying too hard.

SMOKE N SHINE – AUTOMATIC GEL EYE LINER (002 COPPER BLING)

Sometimes I don’t want to use too many products of my face, this eye liner doubles as my eye shadow and my eyeliner. This warm colour is so beautiful on my tanned skin and compliments my eye colour quite nicely as well. Brings out the warmer tones in my hazel eyes and I’ve seen some really great makeup looks with green eyes, using warm copper tones. This glides on so easily and has a little spongy tip that helps make the application even better.

MAGNIF’EYES DUAL=ENDED EYE SHADOW – KOHL KAJAL

(4 SHADES)

004 DARK SIDE OF BLUE

003 QUEENS OF THE BRONZED AGE

002 KISSED BY A ROSE GOLD

001 BACK TO BLACKS

These are my favourite eye products this year! They are so convenient, beautiful shades and literally creams into your skin, leaving the perfect, controlled amount of pigment and there are so many ways to use these. Some of the shades could be used for contouring and highlighting as well.

I am loving this, use these a LOT!

MASCARA (VOLUME COLOURIST/ WONDER’FULL)

There are so many days where the only wear some blush, lipstick and some mascara and I’m out the door. So mascara is one of those makeup products that I cannot do without. Well I can, but I don’t want to! I think mascara really changes your look, regardless of how much makeup you’re wearing overall, it literally opens the doors to your soul. Okay that is a tad dramatic, but it brightens your eyes like nothing else, and your eyes are the first thing people notice about you.

Firstly, I love the metallic finish on this packaging and secondly, they do exactly as they say! Definitely a must-have favourite in my collection!

OH MY GLOSS – LIP GLOSS

I remember growing up, I always liked lip gloss because it gives just the right about of colour and shine. I use a lip liner more often than I do lipsticks, so a lip gloss is perfect to pop on top of a lip liner, or just going for the natural pigmented look.

The one thing I didn’t like about lip gloss was that they lasted for all of a second and you would have to reapply them all the time. The ones that lasted were sticky and transferred on everything. OH MY GLOSS took all of the things I didn’t like about lip gloss, and changed it completely into literal HEAVEN. This is so smooth and non-sticky, non-greasy and lasts for hours even throughout meals.

I like the slight pigmentation and the fact that they are so nourishing.

RITA ORA – NAIL POLISH

I really like Rita Ora’s funky and colourful style and her collab with Rimmel are a perfect depiction of her taste. The colours are all so vibrant and beautiful. You all know by now how much I love flowers and nature and the little detail on her choice of packaging is right up my alley.

I like the thick brush applicator and the long lasting wear this nail polish offers. Overall I really like her collection. I always add the transparent gel polish after painting my nails so my nail polish stays perfect for a lot longer without cracking.
