Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour – Film

Read Time:2 Minute, 49 Second

Usually once the album is complete, Taylor Swift would have a tour promoting an album, but for the last few albums she mentioned that she didn’t go on tour and thought why not have a tour travelling through the eras of the last three albums. As seemingly unusual as that sounds it just worked!

It was a really cool shift with the set designs and the incredible production, it was like watching her grow up through the different eras… the different times in her life were so transparent and the creative mastermind that she truly is throughout and despite it all. The film was so different to what I expected.

Most of artists create movies with the behind the scenes of the tours, focusing so much on the production itself or the person behind the music and we leave the cinemas with an understanding of who they are because of what they chose to tell us. With this being fully focused on the music and the show, no frantic behind the scenes, no footage of a tired star or the deep dark strains of tinsel town, no comedic playfulness from their “real” lives… but what it did have was the most spectacular display of talent, humility and creativity. Filming the full show was truly like being at a concert and it truly is genius!

The IMAX theatre was like being on stage, it was so up close, but the production was done so tastefully. We got to see every moment of the show in full HD. I actually wish every one of the concerts I’ve been to could have an after production of the entire show because we got to see every detail, heard every word clearly and the people in our cinema were on their feet, singing, dancing and they definitely dressed up as though it was a real concert. From cute floral dresses, bright sparkly outfits to painted tees and jeans.

Concerts are a fun way to enjoy the music you love, LIVE and it’s a great escape from everything else. Had the absolute best time and they even had a Taylor Swift move combo, which includes a friendship bracelet, so definitely grab that if you go and watch it and I know it’s a little bit extra on the pocket but treat yourself to IMAX if you can… it was quite an experience watching the show in that setting, definitely adds to the scene.

It was like a girls day out for a bunch of people but if you do decide to take your SO with you, it makes for a perfect date too, there were a bunch of guys too. I did take my SO with me and don’t tell him I told you, but he sang along to a few TS songs too!

After the show we went for a bite to eat at Ocean Basket and then went on the Cape Wheel for the first time in the new location and ended off with some gelato as we walked the pier. It was such a special day out. Way more chilled than going to an actual concert and a very different experience.

I have always been a Swiftie but just seeing the insane amount of talent and the evolution over the eras of her career is just remarkable, definitely a even bigger fan of hers now!
