Empire Entertainment- Film Review – Ready Player One

Ever feel like you need to escape into a cyber world where there are no limits? You could be, look and become absolutely anything you’d ever wanted to be…

Society paints a picture that we are isolated in a cyber world and that we are hidden in a social media platform that is not real life…that we are wasting our youth and losing sleep because we are constantly on our phones.

But imagine a world, where EVERYONE lived and flourished in a cyber world. This film takes you on a visual journey of exactly what that could be like. But, because people are so invested in this cyber world, it affects their actuality as well!

It is both exhilarating and scary how powerful our minds are! How advanced society has become over the years. We’ve already touched the virtual reality realm with creating goggles to experience a whole new world right on our couch, powered by our mobile phones! This film is that… but on steroids!

I felt like I didn’t just watch a film, I had an experience. I absolutely loved the ‘classic hits’ they used in this movie and I am waiting for the soundtrack release! It was such a vibe.

There were moments where I burst out laughing, moments where I nearly launched out of my seat because  something unexpected happened and there were moments where I sat thinking about how great the impact of something actually was. We mask a lot of very serious situations with humor and when you realize it, it’s pretty much mind-blowing!

I’ve also never been disappointed in a Spielberg movie, so I could barely contain my excitement to see the film,  and he certainly always delivers!

I honestly wouldn’t mind going to watch the movie again, it is releasing March 29th.

From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon.

The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse.  But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance).  When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world.  When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
