I’m officially a Princess!

As most kids, we dream about being princesses and princes in a faraway castle and living a life very different to our own. With ordinary woman- turned princesses, Kate Middleton and Meaghan Markle having their fairy tale endings with their respective princes, it is a dream that might not be as far-fetched, as it once was. From the stunning attire to the incredible experiences they are yet to have. Even the security of knowing you’re about to live your best life, for the rest of your life and well, your great-grandchildren will be pretty much sorted too!

Anyway, before I drift off in a childhood daydream let me tell you about the incredible show. I don’t know about you guys but growing up, my sister and I enjoyed Disney fairy tales and my parents were kind enough to copy the movies to VHS tapes for us to watch whenever we wanted to, which was typically every week. There were so many to choose from: Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White… I mean the list goes on. With some new films like Maleficent, Frozen and Rapunzel, there is so many incredible stories for our kids to learn about and enjoy the deeper message of love, kindness and hope.

Another thing most kids enjoy is ice-skating! I mean I have a half a dozen stories about the fun times we’ve had at the ice-rink and to have a combination of Disney and Ice-skating is more than I could ask for…even with my adult-looking-self!

I wasn’t sure what to expect, I thought it was going to be a live production of figure-skaters, singing our favourite tracks from the movies. But it is actually a backing track of the actual movie and they do a whole production of dancing and acting out some of the scenes from our favorite movies.

I don’t want to give too much away but I think the parents of all the little ones were a little more excited about the show, because we could sing along with all the tracks and see just how great the skaters were expressing the stories. Bare in mind that they shortened the stories from a normal movie of 1,5 hours long to about 10-15 minutes. But I was blown away by some of the props and gigantic sets they built, on the ice, right there in front of us!

The ticket prices are extremely affordable and it is a wonderful experience you can share with your family.Definitely worth the bucks you spend.

The actual event goodies and nibbles were particularly expensive so maybe have dinner before you head to the event and then maybe just grab something light once you get there. They also have a few stalls and booths to get your hands on some merchandise so take a good amount of cash if you are a Disney collector.
